A Narration on Sreenivasa of Srigiri

These are poems composed by Me (Jai Sankar Aluru), a staunch devotee of Lord Venkata Chalapathy. These compositions are my small dedication to the Lord Venkata Chalapathy at Srigiri (a special temple of Lord Srihari) which I was familiar and impressed with. This temple is in the town named Ongole, in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

The మూర్తి (holy shrine) in this temple resembles Lord Venkata Chalapathy of Tirumala.The poems are composed in Telugu and I have also given the English translations for them.

కలదని తలచిన చాలు కలియుగ వాసుడు

తానే కదలివచ్చి కాపాడును కంటికి రెప్పయి

నమ్మిన క్షణమునుండి (నిన్ను) వదిలి వెల్లడు

అతని కరుణ కటాక్శ వీక్శణ శ్రీరామరక్షయ్యి

"If you believe in his existence, the Lord of Kaliyuga, He himself will come to save you from your danger ( like in Gajendra Moksham).He will serve you like an eyelid to an eye. His caring and gracious vision wont leave you from the moment you trust him ( as like Ramas protection to sugriva in Ramayana ) ".

తానే జగత్తు అని నమ్మిన నాడు

తరించి పోవును నీ జన్మంబు,

"ఏ పురాణమున ఎంతవెదకినా,స్రీపతి దాసులు చెడరన్నదునూ.."

అని పలికిన అన్నమయ్య పద సాక్శిగ.

"Your life is really safe and cool ,when you realise that he is the universe.The song of Annamacharya , which means " No devotee of Lord failed to accomplish his tasks ". This line is a support to my statement."

తలచినా, మరి కొలచినాపిలిచినా,

మరి పూజించినా,

ఆ నాధుని మధుర నామము

ప్రసాదించును సుఖ సంపద సౌభాగ్యమ్ములు.

కొలవనవసరము లేదు కాథ్యాయిని వ్రతాలు,

నోచనవసరము లేదు నిష్ట ఉపవాసాలు,

చేయనవసరము లేదు వేదాధ్యాయనాలు

అవకాసంబులు లేని నాడు.

It is just enough to think of him in mind / perform a prayer or atleast calling ( chanting) his sweet name, you will be blessed with happiness, prosperity added with your requirements.There is no need to perform Goddess Lakshmi's vratam for money sake and there is no need to do a fasting (upavasam) or chanting of Vedas, when there is no possibility."

తలపున ఆటని నిమ్పిన,

తానే నీవని తలచువాడు,పురుశోత్తముడు.

తలచినవానిది భాగ్యము,

తలవని జన్మము ఎలా,

తనని తలచిననాడు చింతించనెలా.

"If you, just fill HIM in your thoughts, He( the Lord) will see himself in you and will be with you all the times. One who fills Him(the LORD) in ones thoughts will be really ,with prosperity and is hence the Luckiest. The one who won't feel HIM in one's thoughts is going to suffer a lot. There is no need to worry and fear, when HE is here ,(with YOU).

శ్రీగిరీసుని తలచిన సిరులకేమి లోటు,

వై తొలగిపోవును దుశ్టాలోచనలు,

కరిగిపోవుదురు కథోర మనసులు సైతము,

సారను వేడుము శ్రీగిరీసుని పాదపద్మములను.

( The word Srigiri has its meaning in itself. Sri means Goddess Maha Lakshmi and giri means HILL. As the Lord residing on this hill, and the Goddess is residing on HIS heart(encarved), the hill on which he is, is called Srigiri. There is a town by name Ongole, (Prakasam District-Andhra pradesh), India. Ther is a temple of Lord Venkateswara on the Hill in the Heart of the city. Even in this place , the temple is located on the Seventh Hill just like in Tirumala . The murthy (Holy Shrine) of Sri Venkateswara in this temple at Sreegiri resembles the Shrine of Lord Venkata Chalapathy at Tirumala. This is my dedication to the lotus feet of Sree Venkata Chalapathy, who is also called as lord balaji, lord Srihari, Lord Padmavathi Vallabha, the Great Almighty of SriGiri) .

" If you fill HIM in your thoughts, There is no scarcity for money or prosperity or any thing. The bad thoughts will be out of your way and out of your mind. Even the cruel minded hearts will melt. So lets fall on his Lotus Feet and get his Abhayam to cross the Samsaara Sagaram ( the Ocean of Transmigration ) and enjoy the Ananda Sagaram ( Ocean of Bliss) ".

సారను సారను శ్రీగిరీశా సారను సారను,

రక్శింతుమమ్ము తిరుమలేశ పాహి పాహి,

సత్బుద్ధిని ప్రసాదించి పరంధామ,

పరీక్శించకు మమ్ము భక్తపారిజాత.

"Lets all fall on the Lotus feet of Sri Venkata Chalapathy and ask him to help us and save us from evil and evil-doers. Lets pray to him to bless us with good thoughts and a mind to serve him without testing us in times of troubles."
